A
NOTE ABOUT FEES
Usually, we are asked "how much?" before we are asked
"how much experience, education and training
does the inspector have?"
Don't let the largest investment of your life depend on a difference
of $60 between inspection company rates. Shopping for the
lowest price WILL
get you the lowest quality home inspection.
Do you want a
thorough evaluation, expert opinion and concisely written report
OR a checklist with the "satisfactory" boxes checked?
Before making your decision, compare inspector credentials and
sample reports. The guys that are charging $249 for a 2000 sq.ft.
home are probably not going onto the roof, spending less time on
site and preparing a generic, checklist style report. Do you
want an inspector fresh out of an on-line training program who's
done 8 home inspections? I charge according to my
experience, training and education. Please, do
your homework before choosing an inspector.

If you are a
Realtor
looking at these fees, don't you want the
best for your client? Referring them to a reputable inspection
company with a proven track record will certainly minimize
problems after escrow closes and will reduce the chance of a negligent
referral lawsuit. Will your referral base increase when you
refer a quality inspector and buyer problems are minimized?
Does your current home inspector encourage clients to call
THEM, not YOU with any concerns for a period of 2 years after they move in?
We stand behind our work!
